Yesterday at Dentastique Dr. Abdah treated a patient who required four implants, two at the Lower right and two in the upper front left side of their mouth. In the usual way Dr. Abdah made the patient feel at ease, by having a conversation with them at the beginning and asking them whether they wished to listen to music during the procedure or if they would prefer to wear the video goggles that play a film. After trying both methods the patient decided that the best option would be to listen to the lovely hawaiian music that Dr. Abdah got from Hawaii when he was on a course there in May. This was the first stage of the patients treatment plan. Dr. Abdah knew that the patient had previously had various treatments on the teeth including apicoectomies (removal of a portion of the root due to numerous infections), and therefore Dr Abdah suspected retained amalgam in the gums and around the teeth. Once Dr. Abdah started to investigate he found so much amalgam retained in the gums that it took great skill and patience to remove. This was of atmost importance as amalgam certainly is not healthy to the body let alone being stuck in the gums and the bone. Once all of the amalgam was removed Dr. Abdah removed the teeth and successfully place four implants in the mouth, and also used bone graft to enhance bone formation. Dr. Abdah recommended that the patient should return after six months for the second stage in the implant process. Last night the patient was called by Dr Abdah to check how she felt after the treatment, and the patient reported that everythin was fine.
