After weeks of planning and Dr. Abdah making a wax model of this gentleman’s teeth, as a simulation for the treatment, it was time to start the cosmetic makeover. On this gentleman’s first appointment his wife came along to Dentastique with him to help with the decision making. Dr. Abdah had taken some alginate impressions of his mouth in order for the technician to make some study models. As you can see Dr. Abdah explained, I have shaped your teeth, and worked extensively on this model and towards the back of your mouth there is absolutely no space to place any implants. I think that the first thing to do would be to work on your smile zone. It would mean a selection of crowns, bridges and two new veneers, to give you a perfect smile. Unfortunately the upper right Lateral Incisor is sitting in such a way that it actually needs extracting. Dr. Abdah firstly took time to make the teeth in wax on the study model in order to achieve the best results today. During today’s appointment Dr. Abdah shaped the five front teeth and then extracted the out of place tooth. He then made really nice temporary teeth, using a rubber mould that he made from the wax teeth. At the end of the treatment today, the patients wife was happily surprised to see her husbands makeover. Dr. Abdah will see the patient in three months to carry on with the treatment plan.

Wedding smile makeover for a patient getting married in Haverhill
Monday, August 10th, 2009During a FREE consultation last week, a bride to be wanted a smile makeover. This is great but there was only six weeks till the wedding! Dr. Abdah examined her and took some photos of her mouth, he then displayed the photos on the screen and explained that she would need the four teeth at the front upgraded to two new crowns and two new veneers. The first part of the course would be to whiten the teeth using the Advanced Zoom laser whitening treatment. Dr. Abdah checked his book and decided that in order for her treatment plan to be finished in time for the big day he would stay late and accomodate her to whiten her teeth. Yesterday was the appointment for the teeth whitening. This procedure consists of the patient being made comfortable (as it takes 2 hours!), the shade of the existing teeth is taken, then the area inside the mouth is protected before the Whitening gel is applied. Advanced Zoom will lighten the teeth by six to eight shades. The Laser Light is then shone on the teeth. At the end of the procedure the Bride to be was really amazed! The next appointment will consist of the preparation for the Veneers and Crowns.
A Patient drives from Newmarket for his Veneer preparation
Thursday, July 30th, 2009We had a gentleman come in last week for the first stage in his treatment plan, for cosmetic reasons he wanted a porcelain veneer on his upper right front tooth. Dr. Salim welcomed the patient to her surgery, to begin the preparation for a new veneer. After the initial impressions were taken Dr. Salim was then in a position to start preparing the tooth for the brand new veneer. The technique used by a dentist during a veneer preparation requires them to shape the tooth in a very conservative manner, making a 1-2mm space for the veneer. Once Dr. Salim successfully did this, it was time to make a decision on the colour of the veneer. Dr. Salim decided that in order to obtain the best results she would use the true shade device. Dr. Salim, the gentleman and myself mutually decided on the best colour match available. Dr. Salim then placed a temporary veneer over the tooth, until the patient returns in two weeks for the permanent veneer. Sometimes when conditions permit we can even do these veneers in one stage , i.e. on the same day with our state of the art CEREC technology. However in this particular case the decision was made to send it to the lab.
